Message From Coach Dawson

Dear All,

Sorry for the lack of updates last week, been busy getting better.
Obviously losing the last two weeks has hurt but in college football you get what you deserve.
We have not deserved to win the last two weeks but we have learned much in both games.

I believe we are making daily improvement in all areas. Unfortunately the scoreboard is the last place that improvement shows up.

The best part of the last two weeks is to see the faith and commitment of each man in this program. As we have always said we will live by the compass, not the clock.

Daily we focus on the process, knowing that the desired results will come when the time is right.

Some Great news to share. The coaching staff made a decision to add a 3rd Captain to our 2010 Team. We were not planning on doing this as we consider being a Captain a Great honor to be lived by only a select few. However it became apparent to us that we have one young man who daily exhibits REDSHIRT PRIDE beyond all expectations. He is a true Austin College Man that lives by all four principles daily. We wanted to publicly acknowledge him and as important point out to our young players what an Austin College Man is. Thus we named senior DL Reed Eichenberger as our 3rd captain joining Matt Finke and Austin Light.

Recruiting update; at both the TLU and Centre games we have had over twenty recruits on campus. We will continue to do this at each home game.

If you would like to attend please call me at 903.813.2403 and we will get you and your family on the list.

Academic Tutoring: We are Blessed each Sunday night to have two seniors (Sean McGill and Bobby Patel) from the Academic Skills Center working with our young men that need extra help in math, science, and economics. Thanks to all the parents at the SAGU game we still have some snacks left that they have been enjoying on Sunday nights as they study together. (Note were starting to run low)

Hope to see another Great crowd this Saturday at 1pm when we host Sewanee University from Tennessee.

Make it a Great Day,

Coach Dawson
